THE WORTH AND HAZEL CLARKE MUSIC ENDOWMENT This endowment is established in loving remembrance of Worth and Hazel Clarke. As faithful disciples of Jesus Christ they were exemplary in many ways. They enthusiastically enjoyed and supported the music program and all persons involved in it. They were lavish in their encouragement and praise to all children for their achievements. They were generous and quick to give aid to parents and leaders. And they openly expressed their delight and appreciation for any and all regular and special musical offerings. This endowment is open to the contributions of all. Gifts may be made in remembrance of persons that hold a special place in the donor's heart or they may simply reflect a desire to advance the ministry of the El Dorado County Federated Church through it's music program. The proceeds of this endowment are intended exclusively for a ministry of music through El Dorado County Federated Church. Proceeds may be used for such activities as: music teachers, directors, organists, and rehearsal accompanists, music scores, musical instruments ( exclusive of organ and carillon), individual or ensemble voice or instrumental instruction and/or leadership. One specific condition affecting the budgeting of all proceeds from this endowment is that at least one-half is to be allocated and used in a music ministry with and for adolescents and children in each program year. It is likely that activities will fail from time to time creating an imbalance of program expenditures as they relate to the above condition. In that event, an adjustment in the number and/or scope of activities in the appropriate category would be developed and executed in the next program segment or year. Since this ministry is to glorify God, to proclaim the message of God's love and salvation for all people in song and be a means by which all can be drawn closer to the company of their brothers and sisters in Christ and in the love of our Creator, it is my desire that this ministry for youth be pro-active; that it strives to establish a music program which reaches out beyond the immediate needs and interests of the El Dorado County Federated Church membership as well as fully serving this congregation's children i.e. instrumental instruction for children from disadvantaged families outside the membership who strongly desire to learn music and make the time commitment for practice and ensemble rehearsal. A further condition of this endowment is that Federated Church will annually publish and distribute a brief description of the purposes of this endowment, current activities or completed projects underwritten in whole and in part, and an invitation for others to contribute as they feel led. Credit will be printed in performance programs, promotional materials and news stories for activities which are made possible, in whole or in part, by this endowment. I give thanks to God for the special friendship of Worth and Hazel Clarke and the gift of music which enriches and blesses all our lives. Alleluia James E. Zeek 19 December, 1997 |
