Who We Are
The congregation of El Dorado County Federated Church consists of members of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the United Methodist Church, but also of people of other Christian traditions, as well as those who have not grown up with any particular faith tradition. We believe we are called to articulate and practice a perspective of progressive Christianity, which emphasizes social justice and care for the poor and marginalized as an expression of Jesus' instruction to "love one another". Rather than forcing absolute answers, Federated Church is open to asking and living the very real questions of life.
Practicing the love, compassion and radical hospitality of Jesus Christ.

Federated Church. What kind of name is that? It sounds more like a bank or credit union doesn’t it? In fact, it is the name of an unusual, imaginative and compassionate congregation rooted in both the history of this community and two of the country’s oldest denominations.
