Our thriving youth ministry at Federated exists to support youth to become people of service, compassion, and open-mindedness .

Music Ministry

Music is a big part of worship at Federated. Our worship repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, and there are opportunities for all ages to be involved. 

Mission Connections Ministry Team

The Mission Connections Ministry Team serves as an umbrella for all the social justice and mission efforts of Federated Church.
 Its focus is to communicate, raise awareness, and invite the people of Federated Church to
connect with Christ's community locally and throughout the world.

Local Community

Federated Church offers opportunities to gather and serve within the church community, as well as in local community groups in the Placerville region.

• Federated Church Preschool - ​WARMTH ~ KINDNESS ~ PATIENCE: Children are worthy of these things and more. FCP is a place where your child will receive loving attention and guidanc​
• Food Ministries include SHARE Food Closet, the Upper Room, Federated Farmers Market, and 2 Cents a Meal.
• ​Shelter and Emergency Housing Ministries Federated Church helps provide shelter and emergency housing in partnership with HELP (Housing Emergency Lodging Program) and Nomadic Shelter.
• Neighbors is a group of people who are committed to modeling Federated Church's mission of inclusivity and invitation to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. 
• Federated Church Women​​​​​​ are lively, caring, forward-thinking ladies that listen for God's calling and then act to respond with all their resources and have a good time while doing so.
• ROMEOs - The word ROMEOs stands for "Retired Old Men Eating Out". Our activities allow us to put into practice the lessons taught by the Good Shepherd.
• Prime Time is a social group of singles and couples mostly in their 60's and above.​ 
• Health Ministry  is supported by a team of volunteer nurses and a coordinator, focusing on the care of the spirit as well as the promotion of holistic health and the prevention of illness. ​

Federated Church connects with our global community in a number of ways:

• Just Coffee ("Cafe Justo") can be purchased most Sunday mornings.  This "fair trade" coffee directly supports the Mexican farmer's co-op that owns the entire process of growing, roasting, and selling the coffee.  They also have a coffee house ministry to your in Agua Prieta, Sonora.
• Federated youth and adult volunteers build houses for poor families in Mexico on the annual Youth Mission Trip during Spring Break.

Federated Church supports mission partners in:

• Democratic Republic of the Congo - Jeff and Christi Boyd (Presbyterian).  Jeff is the regional liaison for Central Africa.  He works with local people in churches and education in Congo, Cameroon and Equatorial Africa. Christi works with women and children in Congo, Cameroon, Rwanda, South Sudan, and Madagascar to help heal trauma from rape in conflict zones, to help protect and enable widows and women and children working in the mines, and to help empower and support women in difficulty.
• Agua Prieta, Mexico and Douglas Arizona - Mark Adams and Miriam Maldonado Escober (Presbyterian).  Mark and Miriam work together on the US/Mexico border under Frontera de Cristo, worshiping together and providing aid and comfort to migrants in need.  They also helped start Cafe Justo.
• Dominican Republic - Ardell and Gordon Graner (Methodist).  Gordon and Ardell work together in the churches with entire congregations.  Recently they have started a very successful solar oven project to prevent using so much wood and charcoal.
• Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo (Presbyterian).  Work is being done by mission workers in Education for Kinshasa and Health for Kinshasa. 

Special Annual Offerings:

• One Great Hour of Sharing.  One half of the offering supports programs under the Presbyterian Church (USA) for hunger, disaster relief and self-development of people in the U.S. and around the world. The other half supports the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR), a program addressing the same needs.
• Peace and Global Witness.  The offering is divided into thirds between United Methodist peacemaking programs, Presbyterian Church (USA) peacemaking programs, and the local Center for Violence-Free Relationships.​

Earth Community

​Federated Church offers opportunities to learn about and care for the Earth and all the members of our Earth community:

• Celebrating a Season of Creation in our worship, classrooms, and gatherings.
• Tips for "greening" our church facilities and homes.
• Studies and discussion about science and religion.

In addition, Federated Church has been exploring ways to be better stewards of the Earth through lowering its carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions.  New energy-efficient lighting has recently been installed in the Price Hall social hall.
