The Music Ministry
Music is a cherished method of physical, mental, and spiritual expression both inside and outside of an individual’s perception. Music is a big part of worship at Federated. Our worship repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, and there are opportunities for all ages to be involved.
The various ensembles include:
Celebration Singers: A traditional style choir that sing hymns, anthems ancient to present, and Psalm responses. This SATB (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) group sings the great works of Bach, Mozart, Handel, many of the Methodist champions, and more. History and liturgy are emphasized and appreciated.
Praise Team and Worship Band: This band often plays during our Sunday worship services at 10am. Percussion, acoustic and electric guitars, keyboards, piano, and voices explore many styles and back grounds. Practi Each week brings new treasures and gifts for God. This group has a lot of fun making music together!
Bell Choir: Bell Choir practices each Sunday (other than summer break) at 11:30 am.
Federated Church Concert Series: Our music ministies offers an engaging and diverse musical offerings on a regular basis. More information about the upcoming concerts will be advirtised soon. Please check back or sign up for the church newsletter for updates.
Music Explorers Club - Starting on September 6, this newly formed club will be held on Wednesdays at 4pm and is designed for kids grades K-5. Come sing, drum, and explore music and faith with us at this free after school club!
"The Music Explorers Club is a weekly Federated Church club open to elementary school aged children (K-5). Club sessions are held from September through May on Wednesdays at 4 pm for about 45 minutes. The club meets most Wednesdays - specific calendar dates will be available at the first meeting. Club activities focus on learning about music and faith through exploration – listening and moving to music, playing music games, singing, reading and talking about lyrics, and more. Miss Rebecca, who leads the club is a music educator and the director of music ministry at Federated Church. The club is an opportunity to learn and create music together and explore faith. We strive to create a growth centered learning environment for our participants. Exploration and curiosity are encouraged! Club participants not only get their weekly exploration sessions, they also have the opportunity to perform for our community. They will get to share their music at Federated Church events like Trunk or Treat, Cocoa & Carols, the Blessing of the Animals, and during worship on some Sunday mornings. These performance opportunities occur occasionally and will be included in the club’s calendar."
