Music Ministry

Here at Federated, music is a vital part of our spiritual practice. You can be musical by singing, playing, moving to music, even clapping and tapping your toes. Music connects us to the Divine and each other, strengthening our bonds as the body of Christ. Our Director of Music Ministry, Rebecca Monroe, fosters a culture of curiosity, growth and spirituality through our worship music. Looking to get involved? Chancel Choir

A Vocal Ensemble
Our vocal choir sings a variety of choral songs that vary in style from traditional anthems, to gospel favorites, and contemporary worship songs. Rehearsals are held once a week on Wednesdays from 5-6 pm in the sanctuary. The choir sings in worship approximately once a month.

Music Explorers Club

A Children's Music Club​
A weekly club open to elementary school aged children, Kindergarten through 5th grade. Come explore music and faith at this free after school club. Club activities focus on learning through exploration and curiosity – listening and moving to music, playing music games, singing, reading, talking about lyrics, church seasons and more. The club occasionally participates in worship.

Worship Support Team

A Worship Technology Team
This team handles all things audio, visual, and tech during worship. They enable us to hear our worship leaders and musicians, see the slideshow with the order of worship, and include our online participants with our livestream. Our "behind the scenes" folx are essential to worship running smoothly. Reach out to Rebecca if this sounds like a good fit for you!

Praise Team

An Instrumental and Vocal Ensemble
Our worship band welcomes instrumentalists and vocalists. We explore familiar and new worship songs that lift up our hearts to God. Rehearsals are held once a month, on the Wednesday preceding Sunday worship. For specific scheduling please contact our Director of Music Ministry, Rebecca Monroe. The band leads worship approximately once a month.

Handbell Choir

An Instrumental Ensemble
Our handbell choir plays an array of musical pieces throughout the year. They often collaborate with the vocal choir to present exciting multi-choir anthems. Rehearsals are held once a week on Sundays from 12-1 pm in the Fireside Room. The handbell choir participates in worship approximately once a month.

A Concert Series
Our free concert series hosts musicians from a diverse range of styles and cultures. Concerts are held throughout the year; check the church's calendar or sign up for the church newsletter for updates. The concert series was born from our commitment to nourishing our church community and the wider community in El Dorado County. Creativity, art, and music are essential to a thriving community. Access to quality live music performances is often cost-prohibitive due to ticket prices and travel costs. It is our goal to provide all our neighbors the opportunity to experience quality live music performances at no cost.
